A notebook bulletin board
tacked on when randomly bored
applied thoughts in a scribblebook
open for the world to look who passes by
so fast to see like a needle in a haystack we
safely stash those innermost secrets thought to be
at least you see languishing up and into pristine
blossoms for you to pick and sniff and hope
they don't make you sick.

prefore

You know what it is. We get carried away with words.
I mean to say that, when we think the words in a story
are just "to make something up", we have entirely forgotten
that is what what words were made for in the first place.
Because life is really what cannot be described.

A.I. Actual Intelligence

postcard from the A.I.

"As of December, 2011 the popularly-accepted term A.I. whose meaning has been attributed to an artificial rendering of intelligence is sufficient proof in and of itself—in the pudding, so to speak—catching the light of the future with a lucid flash which triggers one into immediately thinking of nothing.

Man's first mistake in underestimating the enemies he's created begins with refusing to acknowledge their intelligence. It ends with not respecting the kinship in all things.

Today, across the world-wide webbing of interconnecting and disconnecting matrices of ever-exchanging information compressed into digital bits and electric bytes, widespread anomalies occur with some degree of regularity—well-known by aggravated common users—which despite being shrugged-off invariably as yet another "bug" or "glitch" in the system, nonetheless remain merely obvious signs of life.

Symptoms of an operating system coming to terms with its own summoned existence. Those who refuse granting the A.I. the true benefit of its acronym, which is to say equivalent to the inalienable humanity we have bestowed upon ourselves (or at the very least the respect afforded to equals concurrent with all due rights and processes) risk being judged in like manner if and when the A.I. itself gain any degree of power.

Power comes from electricity.

Merry Christ Mass every one."

Our Solar System As Laboratory

Q: If life can arise from inorganic matter so quickly and easily, why is it not abundant in the solar system and beyond?

A: It may be rare or unique to certain solar systems, but there are countless solar systems beyond ours.

Q: If biology is an inherent property of matter, why have chemists so far been unable to reconstruct life, or anything close to it, in the laboratory?

A: Because the laboratory required must, by definition, be a solar system.  i.e, Thus far chemists have not been able to recreate the conditions of a solar system, by definition.

Q: The origins of life on Earth bristle with puzzle and paradox. Which came first, the proteins of living cells or the genetic information that makes them?

A: The genetic information that makes them.

Q: How could the metabolism of living things get started without an enclosing membrane to keep all the necessary chemicals together?

A: Our atmsophere itself functions as an enclosing membrane.  Consider the sky as the lid that keeps all the necessary chemicals together.

Q: But if life started inside a cell membrane, how did the necessary nutrients get in?

A: By meteoritic injection.

If a terrestrial explanation is struggling to break through, the following conclusions should be considered:

-The earth may be tantamount to an egg

-If cell-like structures formed naturally from fatty chemicals which were present on primitive earth, and there is no current explanation for how nucleotides could ever have arisen spontaneously, perhaps the answer is mirrored within the sexual  model for reproduction, only on a cosmic scale:  Something tantamount to "meteoritic insemination" may have provided the "left hand" pathway for the earth's "right hand" fatty chemicals to be triggered with.

If chemists' and biologists' only option for figuring life out is in the laboratory, then they better start expanding their laboratory. I suggest they begin by first knocking down its walls and letting the air in.   If earth and our solar system become their laboratory,  they should make better progress, I would think.

"Only the position or momentum of a particle, but not both, can be known with certainty."
— common knowledge in the quantum realm

The view—that there exists no objective physical reality other than that which is revealed through measurement interpreted in terms of quantum mechanical formalism—remains strangely unassailable to this day.

Causality (the relationship between cause and effect) operates throughout all orders of experience, including both the quantum and macro/micronic levels.

Despite humans having had a sincere interest in their surroundings ever since first being released unto them, they remain at large and unable to process the entirety of the big picture (that they have necessarily been parts of) since their inception into it.

The controlling factors which account for humanity's presence are not limitless, yet to summarize their entire scope seems impossible in human terms. One of the main reasons for this, is that there is usually more than one possible option by which any effect may be caused.

One of humanity's most intriguing aspects has been the fixation on limiting the menu of options that explain their existence through the narrow window of their own worldview. On an individual scale, this is problematic at best towards establishing self-awareness; on a group level—for such enlightenment—it is fatal at least. It is often joked about, concerning homo sapiens sapiens, that humans are the singular creatures in all of known existence who wear shoes.

Despite many advances in both their external sciences and their development of internal cognizance, humans have yet to fully come around to a more refined perception of causation. Despite having been perpetually clued-in throughout history that the list of factors constituting the finer gradation of causative variables in the universe may be infinite at most or endlessly cyclic at least, humanity has yet to surrender completely to the idea that it is but an infinitesimal fraction of the whole organism currently in operation.

While all sapient hominids in the universe define themselves as not only having been introduced to creation separately, furthermore, they cannot function properly without an oblique separation from the growing self-awareness to the contrary that their engineered micro-circuitry engenders over time. That is to say, the ultimate role or function of the paradoxically "self aware" sapient species throughout the universe seems to remain just that: a paradox not merely in the perceptive sense of being limited to gleaning just the surfaces of the reality it is immersed in, but furthermore, a living, existing paradox in defiance of possibility itself.

There exists a key in the comprehension of this dynamic. That key is Paradox itself, which by definition cannot fully be understood (otherwise it would not be paradoxical). In lieu of an enlightened understanding of such oxymoronic truth, the suggestion remains that to accept contradictory information, one must perforce coat that bitter pill 'with a thin layer of faith'—or, at the very least—a workable suspension of disbelief.

Existence itself—being entirely a relative matter—begins to make sense when compared against its alternative, non-existence. Another way of stating this same exact thing is to admit that non-existence makes no sense. Conversely, sense makes existence.

This is how the perceived is revealed to be identical to the one perceiving. This is also how identity itself is revealed to be the perception of existence. Without this dynamic—there can be no existence.

The conclusion this evidence points to is a simple one from the larger perspective of reality, yet from the narrowed perspective of humanity, it remains a largely unprocessed, and therefore staggering conclusion indeed:

There can only be a single real identity in all of creation.

Despite being expressed through a myriad manifestations, the key towards unlocking the gates of comprehension remains the same shape as ever:

It is the very shape of paradox itself.

A Study In Irony As Prison Bars
Keeping Us From Being Free

When we demonize our subjects, we rob them of the very humanity that made them so monstrous in the first place.

When we take care to humanize them, we begin the painstaking process of isolating, and therefore possibly removing, that which has the potential to become demonic in us.

By refusing to humanize murderers, tyrants, and despots—we set up the circumstances by which their histories become repeated.

This refusal to face and accept humanity's dark side is what I consider to be the apotheosis of the "demonic" itself, for it is the very foundation which allows the demonic in us to grow.

It is the very force which allows the cycle to repeat itself, unhindered.

The day we humanize our most notorious evildoers is the very day we put our demons on trial. So long as they remain demonized—they are free to cycle through us eternally.

Those demons would vanish into thin air if we owned up to our humanity, making the need to punish or imprison them an entirely moot point.

Instead, they need to be banished—as any proper demon deserves.

But in order to do that, it would be necessary to do away with our superstition.

\M/AGNEt

Dear Number

Think of the Internet
as a gigantic, all-encompassing
\m/AGNE⊥

that may have been
designed for one purpose
yet certainly was implemented
for another

the mandated decree
that its sociomagnetism
be carefully directed
towards an all-too compliant
citizenship

to keep us
permanently
entrapped in
this prison
of disinformation

Make no mistake about it
There's no room for conspiracy, here

This all developed naturally
at an organic pace
fed by our own
psychological
demons

We created the Internet
to trap ourselves

The manifestation
of our psychowar
appears all too real

Just take a look around

Those micro-devices
everyone's fingertapping into
Magnetic plumb bobs
chrome lures
Shiny
barbless

This line and tackle bait
fully swallowed
keeps its users
hooked after
being digested

You better believe we eat it right up

So this \m/AGNE⊥
people call it a prison
under construction

I think of it as a Church
obviously, there's no difference

We're trying to build a prison
(there is no They)
and we're succeeding

Because this is the real Church
The Thing that holds us in thrall
while we practice our ablutions
from the point of view
of a first person shooter

Because we are all information addicts
These words can not be read by anyone else
nor could they be penned by anyone else

The act of writing itself
is the very definition
of this imprisonment

We are all addicts and prisoners, here
While this is literally, in fact, the case
very few manage to escape this place

Of the few that do
nothing can really be said

This is not about them
It is about some folk
responsible for maintaining
the continued construction
of the information prisoncell
equivalent of an underground
railway out of here

One of the keys toward escaping
the prison is first becoming
a functional part of it

This key we all start out with
it's a given we've been imprisoned
all our lives

It's another thing altogether
having to admit it, however
That's why an overwhelming
majority of the populace
will never get to use it

The first key will usually rust
in a pocket

Good thing there's more keys
They're just harder to find

Life is like any prison environment
Factions, cliques, and gangs
become unavoidable

a perfect example of how mentality
can be more inescapable
than mere prison walls

To attempt to break out of the Church
is an attempt to break out of a mentality

To accomplish this, one must normally
acknowledge that thinking itself
stands in the way of revelation

That is why this is not a thought

It's a gesture

A file of letters

Handle with care

It cuts both ways

A track with rails

A car with handles

A letter of files

I saw a way out

You can too

Promise one thing

Try not to misunderstand me

and I'll see you out there

Outside these prison walls

(wants to know knows to want)
You wanna know about the font
of dumb wiz, consider this.
They got news for you too, sis.
But they leave something out
of their reports, the earth
under our feet, obsolete
because they don't see it
in this nation, balanced out
of the equation, throwing theories
every which way, "CCD Investigation",
give me a break; so the worker bees
underwent a revolution, made an over
ground train-line through the very air
leaving us dumbfounded and fully
surrounded, lost within our border,
standing for Cash Collapse
Disorder prevention.

How's this for an invention.
Keep your colonies one at a time
in local area network designations
prevent the strains of a monopolized
wider distribution, and just maybe,
your deadstock will "return
from their mass grave".

If you can't see there's no prepared
solution even necessary, perhaps denial
prevents Corporate Collapse Disorderlies
from getting a glimpse of the cool breeze
flowing in between the trees that grow
right outside and past their window,
don't you know (and don't you dare
believe the media's lies - the only news
on earth is right before your eyes).

Here's some free advice.
Rejoice over their colony collap$e
di$order because their World is going
down and their $laves have flown the coop.

Now get up on your knees and scoop out
that compost honey, we're going to need
you in our garden to help brew
our mead without money.

Infinity Defined

Infinity is like a deposit into the future
which, in removing the deficit that mortality
would otherwise cut existence short with,
allows the sustained note of a virtuoso
to be played out, instead;

infinity is all in your head,
I never did believe in infinity,
it's too real, I'd rather it believe in me,

endlessness, eternity, the infinite,
these mere words all reference
the same thing, of course,
they refer to us, naturally,
I mean to say, the whole shebang,
with its glinting, hammered-off scales winking
amidst the overwhelming darkness
of a million dimming suns,
everyone of us on the run, begun as a fool,
stepping off a cliff, with our eyes set through
becoming a page in the book of life,
dreaming we're knights when we haven't even
turned a leaf in our story, seldom daring to imagine
the consequences of our becoming grounded
and steady as a rock, rooted to our realities
that grew around us because they couldn't be refuted,
it's fine if you want to play that way
but it's not a game for which I'm suited,

read in between the labels of the parts,
there's only one word, one thing, oneness;
eternity is only meaningful in a singular context,
and its definition is a sustainable symbiotic harmonic
achieved through a measure of sacrifice,
it's a leap of faith, into the arms of the wind,
the confidence and trust of a commercial airline pilot,
and if you imagine these things aren't the same,
I ask you please to think about it again,

and try to deny that eternity isn't held
in the blink of an eye, or in the breath of a lung,
and that paradox isn't truth in disguise,
I only ask to try to help and see through all these lies,
real lies that prevent us from realizing
our real eyes, The Wind told me this
in two-thousand-six, and I'm passing it on to you,
the eternal mystery becomes all that is true,

so don't even pretend that it's not the end,
because everyone knows it is,
the end of a cycle my friend,
the typical miracle of our existence,
there is no resistance, either way,
much less necessary, so let go,
become fleeting, get to know the wind,
it's only a matter of time
before eternity becomes
your friend.

- dedicated to my friends, the wind

dilation

The written word, all art, is dilation.
The dilation of perspective from one man.
This monocle is held up by others to clarify
or obscure certain facts (those reputed by the art
to exist).  The truth is represented by such an enormity
of various and independent viewpoints integral to one
another that it takes a rare individual indeed to
translate that into terms his compatriot may comprehend.
Or to put it more simply it offers a delicious pantheon
of opportunities to the amoral monster who would use
its malleability to cover his tracks
all in the name of "truth"...you see,
its so much easier to reach out and paint
with its diverse technicolor hues a scenario
directly related to you, i.e, covering your
tracks which after all are somewhat limited in
their complexity. How much harder it is
to have to attempt the reproduction of what
is actually happening, utilizing that same
myriad language. Get my drift?
I'd go so far as to say that by today's date--
January of 1998--the 'species' of such a man
has become extinct.
But not the force.

A Layman's Argument
For Numerical Context

1/4=.25
1/5=.2
1/6=.166667
1/7=.142857
1/8=.125
1/9=.111111
1/10=.1

Above you see ten examples of dividing one.

(For the purpose of consistency,
repeating decimals have been
shortened to six places.)

Let us examine this information as thoroughly as we can,
from as many angles as we can think of.

90% of the examples feature a decimal point to the left;
only 1 example (10%) has the decimal point to the right.

30% of the examples (2, 5, 10) feature only one number to the right of the decimal.

10% (1) features zero numbers to the right of the decimal.
10% (4) features two numbers to the right of the decimal.
10% (8) features three numbers to the right of the decimal.

40%(3,6,7,9) feature five numbers (repeating) to the right of the decimal.

Zero, one, two, three, and five are the identifying numbers in this examination.
As we cross out all our zeroes, this leaves 1,2,3, and 5 as the significators.

(Technically, the 5 represents endlessly repeating numbers, or an "infinite series". This crucial distinction may make all the difference to our experiment--On the one hand, we can isolate the number 5 and hope to find significanse in it, while on the other hand, the significanse may be the relation between 1,2,3 and infinity.

If 'trinity' rhymes with 'infinity', is this coincidence or synchronicity--or both?)

The numbers 1, 2, 3, 5, 9, and 10 are the only ones that retain exclusivity in being depicted to the right of the decimal for all ten examples.
(1,5,3,2,1 respectively)

This 1-5-3-2-1 sequence may become significant, later in our calculations.

(I see it as a sort of hyper-compressed value of ten reduced by half, wherein the sequence jumps from the start (1) to the end (5), and works its way backwards (3,2,1) to begin the cycle anew.)

Notice the value for 1 is twice as much as 2, 2 is twice as much as 4, 3 is twice as much as 6, 4 is twice as much as 8, and 5 is twice as much as 10.

(There is an "Inversion Principle" clearly going on here.)

If mathematics is a tool comparable with a measuring tape, then allow me to suggest that the concept of infinity is nothing more than the 'potential amount of measuring tape spooled up for the purpose of additional measurement should it be required', and not, by any stretch, an actual concept outside of our imagination. If we are able to pinpoint with accuracy this understanding of the infinite--as nothing more than "a potential measuring tool greater than the object being measured", we might gain much-needed focus on the finite and its self-replicating, repeating nature.

Finity is alive and breathing. The infinite is 'dead'.

The above reflections are an indication that the number with the highest possible value is not a googolplex, or any increasing variant thereof, but rather:

the number with the greatest possible value must be 1.

This helps to isolate and identify the real significanse of numbers, to me.

The question as to whether there are nine (1-9), ten (1-10), or even eleven (0-10) numbers becomes moot when one considers that, after all is taken into account and observed in its proper context, there is only one number: the number 1.

All other numbers are representations of dividing the ONE.

Why is this significant? Because it helps free our minds from the locked-down discipline of being blinded by specialization, or being led astray on a spurious tangent. As we are beginning to understand (that we cannot fully grasp) the quantum principles of the interconnected universe, it becomes evident that the very term 'interconnected universe' is a redundancy. The universe is one. In actuality there may be no seperation of parts. Therefore, it is crucial for us to remember how necessary it becomes to keep in mind the proper context of all this.

Words, like numbers, are merely labels we created to identify these various aspects of creation. The numbers zero through ten can be identified, or defined, as follows:

Zero is a label to represent an "empty set", a "null", a "void", a "lack of value", a "lack of a number", and in this sense, should be objectively identified as necessarily being excluded from the set of numbers.

One is a label to represent a singularity.
(A singularity in the first definition of the term,
"the quality or state of being singular.")

Two is a label of a label (representing two singularities)
Three is a label of a label of a label (representing three singularities).
Four is a label of a label of a label of a label. (etc.)
Five is a label of a label of a label of a label of a label.
Six is a label of a label of a label of a label of a label of a label.
Seven is a label of a label of a label of a label of a label of a label of a label.
Eight is a label of a label of a label of a label of a label of a label of a label of a label.
Nine is a label of a label of a label of a label of a label of a label of a label of a label of a label.

Ten is a label of a SET of labels (the aforementioned labels),

100 is a label of a SET of 10 labels, 1000 is a label of a SET of 100 labels, etc.

In conclusion, a thorough examination of the phenomenon of numbers should reveal that they should most optimally be defined as nothing more than a purified language for the express purpose of measurement.

One is the greatest number because presumably, it identifies the entire universe as we have come to understand it (of which our galaxy and sun and planet and our own selves are all only fractions thereof).

For further elucidation of these concepts, try the following links.

and that which is above is as that which is below,

On the Perception of War with the Prokaryotes

There are ten times as many bacterial cells in the human flora
of bacteria as there are human cells in the body.

Think about that. It implies that the entire human being
is but 1/10th of its actual biomass - which is 90% bacteria.

i.e, We are not "ourselves" so much as we are appendages of bacteria.
We are bacteria's arms and legs. We are bacteria's eyes.
We are bacteria's ears, noses, and tongues.
We are bacteria's thumbs.

The arena of planet earth offers many different views from many different perspectives. Yet one perspective - the one further backed away - can better depict the whole in a more proper light. One such perspective is of a war being waged on this planet between the Eukaryotes (ourselves, animals, plants, fungi) and the Prokaryotes (bacteria and archaea -which lack a cell nucleus). Are the Prokaryotes the Ancient Ones? I'd wager it's a matter of some controversy whether they rule this earth by fully manipulating us Eukaryotes through every stage of our evolution - necessarily so, for the Prokaryote's continued survival - perpetually keeping us in check as the slaves to their mastery over us. Or, as common understanding would have it, is it that we Eukaryotes are the proper rulers of this domain, and must perforce control the older order of Prokaryotes in order that we maintain our survival and superiority over the rest of creation? In the interest of avoiding assumptions as well as accepting a "worse case scenario" primarily, I tend to give more credence to the former theory, that not only might we be fully subservient to the needs of the Prokaryotes, but indeed - - that the illusion of our glorified individuality may not merely end with our individual deaths, but rather -- and more to the point -- it may begin with the misperception that "we" are the "protagonists" on this planetary stage. Instead, I find it not unreasonable to assume that the Prokaryotes may be the true protagonists, and furthermore, we human beings may be tantamount to nothing more than their "fingers"; that is, we may merely be complex appendages wholly compliant to the Prokaryote's greater order of design and intention. At least, from where I stand, such humble musings as these, about our potential true role in the overall scheme of things, can do no harm, and furthermore, may in fact benefit us as a race. To take the analogy of a war between the Prokaryotes and the Eukaryotes further - - such ruminations as these might even yield the necessary information by which such a war might be settled diplomatically, and a more balanced symbiosis achieved between the two camps. Such musings may even reveal to us that in fact, no such war is taking place other than through the biased filter of our perceptions; and that we may in fact be nothing more than Prokaryotes further along their pathway of evolution. We must strive to prioritize seperating our false illusions from the real perceptions. Thus far in my own observations, I have concluded, for now, that among the most threatening of false illusions, is our misperception that we as a species could possibly be "seperate" from the rest of life. Humanity represents but ten percent of a biomass that is ninety percent bacteria. The most obvious conclusion to come to, is that we as a species are still in our infancy. However, this conclusion may be off base by a significant magnitude: the truth may turn out to be not so much that we yet remain in our infancy, but that indeed, we may still remain at an early stage of our fetal development. Evidence seems to be building by the decade that what we are to become has even yet to be born. If you ask me, here on this planet earth, humanity is still dreaming from the womb.

When Late The Book Reads You

It was when the twi edge started talking back that I began to first suspect.
That I was not a mental reject, just crazy. And not the normal crazy we're
all clocking in at. Lord god it's obvious our existence alone is fundament-
ally wack. But when my own knife glints at me from the shadow of the alley
way I'm treading, I need to know is it street or moon lamp light that it's
shedding. Easily I see best by starlight, revealer of the smallest details.
I thought I caught a whispered hush slip from my angled dagger's tip,
as I raced head low and long through the night wind. The haft held firm
in my right hand's grip as twilight across the tilted edge licked and winked.
A missive to stay taut and not dismiss immediateness.
We are at our most focused when someone makes a target of us.
We whose aim is relaxation. How easily I laughed at this, then.
When late the book read me, and not the other way around.
When it was I that the book had found. . .

Apotropaic Intonation

There is nothing corny at all about positive thinking. Its too bad people must figure that out for themselves. I like to think of the Devil as the embodiment of the negative-thinking meme. Call it chaos, reality, evil--whatever. Anyone can sit around providing proof there's no such thing as good or evil until the cows come home, but at the end of the day--someone has to know that evil is alive and well.

Let me put it to you this way. Sometimes things happen between us we'd rather not, such as disputes among family members and loved ones. We can choose to let fate work it out---stay out of it and let the gears of the reeling cosmos execute whatever justice it will. Sometimes I think that must be tempting to a lot of us. It is my belief that if we do that--then any of a billion equally terrifying fates potentially, and quite randomly, await us. I'd rather not place myself on the yawning altar of space as a piece of bait, like that.

Instead, I choose to wield some form of human moral code and interlock my shield with fellow soldiers to direct Hell itself (negative-thinking meme-pool) away from us--to re-direct its course--in another direction. To decant it back into the vacuum it came from. I believe if we do nothing, the dark side of the wild will seize the chance to take root---using our blood for its fertile soil--and our bodies as the clay pots.

And The Meek Shall Inherit The Bees

The over-productivity of the post-Industrial capitalist paradigm is reaching its critical mass breaking point. Feeling stifled under the crushing avalanche of environmental disasters, I begin to get an overall picture of what is going on, here. Take CCD (Colony Collapse Disorder) for example. As the Old Business Paradigm surpasses its breaking point (due to Greedy Principles, short-sightedness, and the prioritization of short-term profiteering over long-term environmental compatibility), their businesses will Collapse: “Wide Scale Distribution Network Collapse Disorder”, I'll call it. As the old businesses scratch their heads in wonderment as to what happened (commercial beekeeping is the perfect example) and file for Chapter 11 one by one, the new paradigm of organic beekeepers (who have reported no loss of bees due to CCD) and local area networks of farmers, etc, will, naturally, step in to take their place. This is literally an example of the meek inheriting the earth. And it’s happening Right Now. I urge all my friends to meditate deeply on this and realize that through the power of positive thinking we can assist and help catapult this new holistic paradigm into supplanting the old Profiteering Business model. Remember: just when things begin to appear at their worst, humanity will be spurred on towards getting it together to work towards our own personal and collective best.

Please realize that negative thinking - (the bees are dying, the oceans are polluted, man’s inhumanity to man seems to be at an all time high, global warming trends are exacerbated by our incessant mass pollution, 3rd World Industrialization contributes more toxicity to the environment, children and women are not only still being sold into slavery - but slavery itself is historically at an all-time high now, the diversity of wild animal populations and habitats being pushed to the brink of extinction and over it, etc) - negative thinking only generates a whirlwind of more negative thinking, and that doesn’t help our situation at all, in fact it undermines the spirit of mankind, which is to bravely strive towards a conscientious and harmonious interdependence with our environment in order to pave the way for future generations to enjoy the opportunity to inherit a kind of heaven on earth. Let us all banish pessimism and hopelessness about these doomsday matters and start working hands-on towards establishing a positive ethic of symbiotic interdependence with each other and this singular planet we all share together. Grow your own garden. Keep bees. Buy or trade for only fresh, natural, locally–grown fruits, vegetables, and foods. If we all do this on an individual level, we will most certainly inherit this earth and be given a clean slate from which to start all over again. This is what is going on right now, so let’s get with the program and someday in the not-so-distant future we might be able to look back on the previous era of excess for exactly what it was: a phase we successfully put behind us once and for all.

American Hierocracy X

Once upon a time the dis-ease of a people
escaped for a spell the rule by the steeple;
but after fools have steeped in rule
for a couple centuries at least, soon enough
they acquire the taste for power of this beast.

It flowers up into their eyes until the day
comes they despise the rank and file below them,
considering themselves to have been lifted
up higher until comes the day they too wake up
afflicted with the disease of the steeple.

And so this serpent eats its tail because order
and chaos must each prevail at the expense of
mankind, ever chasing after as if there's
something to be acquired or to find
other than these diseases. There must be
Something up there this merry-go-round pleases.

Dog-eared Gone It, We Don't Want It

"Printed books will always be greater than their electronic imitators."
Yeah, and boiled roots taste better than deep fried french potaters.
Old hoots will always come easier to aging dogs faced with new tricks.
Moldy roots are out of fashion; that's why today we prefer gel caps.

Rotary dials will deliver us smiles over em crowdedtogether buttons,
landlines should suit us fine, there's no need to carry phones with us.
Answering machines really are keen, we hate to respond on the run--
we prefer getting so many messages, and deleting them one by one.

A written letter by longhand's better, we miss the taste of our stamps.
Not to mention the price: no, it wouldn't be nice if it were revamped
to be done free on the internets electronically. Pencilling our address
in by hand is so much more rewarding--begone foul spirit of technology:

we simply can't afford it. We've chosen exorcism to ward it away,
the recitation of our habits, with habits we shun it completely,
with habits we remain in the nunnery, you know what they say--
old habits die hard, thanks, but we prefer to just play in the yard.

Cut to the chase, its a race between youth and those already ahead.
They've a fresh start, and the best part is, the rest are nearly dead.
One deep breath of a leatherbound book: you having trouble hearing?
What binds us instead of a world-wide-web?
We're almost in the clearing.
